What’s the best time to schedule Senior Portraits?

Right now. No matter the month or time of year we can create a beautiful gallery of sentimental images. Consider how the seasons influence hobbies and the places you’ll want documented.

Above all choose a time (both date AND time of day) that’s most stress-free with plenty of time both decompression time before the session and after it. My Senior Sessions aren’t timed but end naturally between 2-3 hours with extra time for breaks, travel between locations, etc. This gives us plenty of time to create and connect.

Seasonal considerations: April and May *might offer warmer weather (emphasis on “might”) BUT one thing is for sure: the final months of the school year are stacked with end-of-year activities. That combined with unpredictable spring weather…

The summer/fall before or after graduation offers flexibility and reliable light and weather without the stresses of year-end busy-ness.

Already graduated? Graduating next year? No problem. There’s no rules, let alone rules about graduation pics needing to be done before or after they “walk”, graduate, move out, etc. Now is always the best time. Want to send a graduation announcement- send them anytime! If you’re aiming for graduation invites (to invite folks to a party or the graduation itself, I recommend scheduling 6 weeks before graduation to allow plenty of time for editing, image delivery, and ordering your announcements.

“I love that Ashley was honest in helping me choose photos for my album. She was able to see things that I wouldn’t have noticed right away which made the process of narrowing it down much easier. I also loved how intimate it was and felt that she really focused on me and my family to dedicate her time to providing the best possible experience for us.”- Sara
