WORKING ARTIST STATEMENT
My work offers an experience of being seen. A reciprocal and collaborative mirror witnessing that no matter the medium, centers listening and expressing, sharing and showing up.
I live in devotion to a finely tuned bullshit meter, I’m allergic to pretense, and I love the ah-ha-awe-sting-slap of a story or image told true. I crave pushing into the edges of expression, seeing life as a medium, practicing accountability, and attuning to the real over the contrived in how I show up.
I’m very flawed, very human, very passionate. A fantastic listener, say-it-like-it-is kinda gal. It’s been my experience that honoring the intuition, owning our stories, and surrendering to the body’s knowledge deepens and expands the creative experience of the life we live, and the art we make of it.
Since 2017 my partner in life and love Matthew and I have been hard at work/play painting, selling, and sharing Ultraviolet Backdrops with creatives around the world.
I’m one part hermit, one part let’s gooooo. I love harmonizing, talking an ear off, being with my kids and partner, writing, long baths, coffee shop visits, travel, working in the garden, hosting friends for dinners, modern dance, concerts, the desert, reading, etc etc etc.
